twisted stitches

This sock is full of them. It’s taking a while, partly because I keep getting too engrossed in Catching Fire, and this isn’t exactly the best reading knit out there! More than once I’ve missed a mini cable out and had to drop down a few rows to fix it. I’m definitely getting some cable fixing practice in with this sock.

Still, I love how crisp the twisted stitches look, and I am absolutely loving how this yarn is knitting up. I was really unsure of how it would look after I’d dyed it, but I’m finding the little flecks of orange that pop up against the grey so much fun!

Yes, do! It's addictive though :)
The yarn turned out to be just fine and that pattern's the perfect one to showcase it!!! Great job so far!!!

Thanks! I really do love the yarn/pattern combo :)
Those twisted stitches look fantastic. Interesting colourway - I love the hint of a warm light orange-y tone with all those blues/greys. How on earth do you read/knit at the same time? Do you have it on audiobook or is it simply a superpower? ;)

Haha, not very well at the moment! I keep getting distracted by either the reading or the knitting :) I do sometimes knit to audiobooks, but for some reason I feel like I'm cheating with an audiobook, and I'm also very picky about the narration. It is a bit tricky to knit and read a with real book, but the kindle makes it so much easer!
The sock is looking really lovely, and the colour of the yarn is beautiful what dyeing process did you use?

Thanks! It was kettle dyed. My favourite method :)
Love the flecks of colours that pop up! Great looking sock. I'm dreadful at fixing twisted stitches, but I guess necessity is the mother of learning a new skill!

Thank you! Oh, such true words! I was faced with frogging or dropping a few stitches back to try and fix them so took what I perceived to be the lesser of two evils! I've had to do a few times now (reading is clearly zapping my concentration on these socks :P) and I'm happy to report that it does get easier each time!
They are gorgeous - and the colour is just lovely!

That color is so completely enchanting. It looks wonderful knitted up in that beautiful pattern.

Thanks, I couldn't be happier with how it's knitting up! Now I want to dye everything like this :)
:-) I like your optimist's approach to having to fix stitches. I'm never so half-full while I'm in similar situations!

Hehe, "optimist's approach" probably paints me in a better light than I am in those situations! I'm usually cursing like a sailor while I do it :)
Another beautiful sock coming into being! It's a perfect match to your pretty yarn!

Thank you! They do match up pretty well, don't they? :)
It looks awesome so far! twisted stitches definitely slow down the knitting speed though, for sure.

They really do! I don't think I'd ever bother with them if they didn't look so amazingly crisp :P
I definitely love the orange flecks and that sock is awesome! Are those litttle sock circular's your knitting with?

They are! Little 9inch Hiya Hiya circulars. I love them, but they do cramp my hand up a little if I knit with them for too long in one sitting.
